Thanks for Ten Great Years!
The Slesnick Campaign would like to thank our wonderful family, friends, and neighbors for all of the overwhelming support and encouragement you have bestowed upon us over the past ten years. Don truly feels honored to have been able to serve as your Mayor while helping to lead our great city through both prosperous and challenging times.
While the campaign may have ended last night, so many of you have chosen to reach out with such nice words of thanks and appreciation, we thought it might be nice offer a little "Guest Book" to share your sentiments with Don and others. We would love to hear from all of you!

It is Monday, May 2nd and I am still in denial. I keep hoping that I will wake up from this crazy dream in which someone other that Don Slesnick is making decisions about the city that I love.
Don, although I am not a native of Coral Gables, your warmth and welcoming spirit made me feel right at home. I am so proud of the city in which I live and feel so blessed every time I drive home and pass the wonderful landmarks and beautiful homes that you have worked so hard to protect. You were a wonderful mayor - and for what it is worth - still are. You will forever be my #1 mayor.

Thank you for your dedication to our city and hard work for the last 10 years.You are one of the main reasons that we live one of the safest and most beautiful cities in the country.
On a personal note,Huber and I appreciate your support to our family when our sons were deployed to Iraq and for your assistance to Christine in arranging for her to intern in the Mayor's office in Aix en Provence.What a great experience it was for her!
On behalf of the Red Cross,I would like to thank you for your many donations to our auctions.Many people enjoyed their "City Hall Tours"and "Breakfasts with the Mayor".

Mayor Slesnick -Thank you for making the City of Coral Gables my family's choice to live and play. With your leadership in County Hall the City Beautiful progressed with planned development making the city more attractive and increasing its tax base. You helped lead many of the efforts to beautify our City of Coral Gables. Our medians, streets and traffic circles have made our driving more pleasurable.

Dad,
Ten years is a long time. Just think, you've been mayor longer than Lamar and I have been married! Any municipality would be lucky to have you at the helm. I think the kind of campaign people run speaks volumes of their character, and for that, we are so proud that you chose to run a positive and honest campaign. One of our favorite rememberences of your tenure as Mayor is when Lamar kept coming over to your house (so that he could ask you to marry me..) but you were never home. So he had to call City Hall and make an appointment to see you there. That was classic! To this day, I am still introduced to other people as "Don Slesnick's daughter..." Why? Because everyone knows and loves you! Keep your chin up! Now you can spend more time with your granddaughters, actually read a book and maybe even get to play a golf game or two....Oh yeah, Jim's also glad to have you back at the Law Firm.... We all love you and are so incredibly proud to be related to you.

Don and Jeannett (Indeed all the family) - in my experience, public service wins total commitment from Don and that, means all the family; and willingly too. I was saddened to see that the fourth term was lost by so few votes but thrilled that now there will (I hope so) be more time to enjoy life, some leisure and the expanding family. Don and Jeannett you have both delivered in Spades to the benefit of others and have without doubt made a significant difference in the Gables.
